Find out how to effortlessly upload drawings to Reconstruct through the Data Manager, split them into individual pages, add locations, and upload selected pages. In this article, we'll walk you through the easy steps to upload your drawings to Reconstruct and share some useful tips for optimizing the process.
Step 1: Access the Data Manager
First, log in to Reconstruct and access the Data Manager for your project.
Step 2: Navigate to the Drawing Tab
Click on the "Drawing" tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
Step 3: Upload Drawings
Click on the "Upload Drawings" button on the top right-hand side of the screen. Select the Drawing from your local hard drive, and click "Open". Reconstruct will split the uploaded drawings file into individual pages. You can also drag and drop the files as well.
Step 4: Customize Drawing Details
Change the name and add a location to every new drawing. Select the drawings you want to upload to Reconstruct. In case you have a multi-page file and you are not interested in using all the drawings in that file, you can pick and choose the drawings you want to upload.
Step 5: Review and Edit Drawings
After completing the upload, the drawings will be available in the Data Manager for your review. In the Data Manager, you can still add/modify/delete the location associated with every drawing as well as the drawing's names.
Tips for Uploading Drawings:
- Make sure the file is properly formatted and optimized for upload. Large files or those with too many pages may cause issues during the upload process.
- Ensure all links from the file are removed, unless it's an image file such as JPEG or PNG.
- Take advantage of the location feature to enable better project tracking and organization.
- Keep the drawing names clear and descriptive to facilitate easy identification and searching.
- Consider using a consistent naming convention for all uploaded drawings to maintain consistency and avoid confusion.
