Reconstruct can process drone images to create 3D reality models (Point Clouds). To create a new point cloud in Reconstruct, you need to do the following:
- Upload your drone images to Reconstruct.
- Access the Images tab in the Data Manager.
- Select all the images that you want to include in this point cloud.
- Click on the "Process point cloud" button at the top right-hand side of the screen to access the point cloud processing box.
- In that box you can:
- View how much time it will take to process the point cloud.
- Change the point cloud name (if needed).
- View the number of images, their date range, and the camera models that were used to capture them.
- Select an existing point cloud to be used for automatic alignment. Automatic alignment aligns the new point cloud to the one you will select here.
- Import a ground control point (GCP) file.
- Elect to receive an email when the point cloud is completed.
- Once you are done with setting up the appropriate options, click on "Process".
- You will see another box that shows the expected processing time.
- Now if you go to the Point Clouds tab in the Data Manager, you will see the new point cloud in there with the status as "Initializing 1/3".
Once the point cloud is completed, you will be able to activate/deactivate it, download it, view the ortho photo, and/or delete it.
