Adding Control Points
Applying an alignment requires the use of a minimum of 3 control points. To add a control point press on +New Control Point. If needed, you can rename this control point to help you remember its location for future use. Each control point has two pins associated with it: one cyan pin that must be placed on the Reference Model and one pink pin that must be placed on the To-Align Model.
Placing Control Point Pins in the Viewer
To place the pins of a control point in the viewer, select the +Add to add the pin of the Reference Model and +Add to add the pin of the To-Align point cloud. Refer to Getting Started with Navigation for tips on how to navigate through the viewer and to Picking Points for tips on how to pick points accurately and more efficiently.
Sorting Control Points
Control points can be sorted by ID, name, the availability of Reference Points, the availability of To-Align Points, or the distance between the To-Align and Reference Point.
Hiding/Showing Control Points
Each control point can be shown/hidden separately by pressing on the "eye" icon associated with it. Hiding a control point will hide both its pins in the viewer.
Additionally, the Alignment Tool has the option of hiding/showing all control points at once. This is particularly useful for decluttering the viewer when there are many control points in the project, and there are just a few points that need to be viewed or changed.
The Alignment Tool also allows you to hide just the labels of the pins.
Deleting Control Points
To delete Reference and/or To-Align Points, mouse over the checkmark indicating its use and click on the trash icon when it appears. To delete the entire control point, right-click on it and select "Delete entire control point".
